Why October is the Perfect Time to Become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator
If you’ve ever wandered down the craft aisle with that sparkle in your eye, dreaming of endless papers, stamps, and tools at your fingertips … then listen up, friend - October is the month you want to jump in and become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!Normally, the deal is already pretty sweet: for just $99, you get to pick out $125 worth of products for your starter kit. But here’s the kicker - you’re not stuck with a cookie-cutter kit. Nope! You get to build your own kit. Want all paper? Done. All stamps? You got it. All tools? Yep. Or mix and match until your crafty little heart is happy.
But in October, Stampin’ Up! is making it even more exciting with two ways to join:
✨ For just $35, you can choose $125 worth of products.
✨ Or for the regular $99, you’ll get to choose a whopping $189 worth of products!
That’s a jaw-dropping amount of crafty goodness, no matter which option you pick.
What You Get Beyond the Kit
The perks of becoming a demonstrator don’t stop at the products (though let’s be real, that’s already amazing). Here’s what else you’ll enjoy:๐ค Early Access: Be the first to see new releases and catalogs before anyone else.
๐ค Discounts & Commissions: Enjoy a 20–25% discount on your own purchases, plus 20–25% commission when others order through you.
๐ค Community: Join a worldwide family of crafters who share, connect, and inspire each other daily.
๐ค Low Pressure: Sales quotas are simple and achievable (more on that below).
How Easy It Is to Stay Active
One of the most common questions I get is, “What do I need to do to stay active?” The answer: it’s easier than you think. To continue to receive your discount and other demonstrator perks, you need to submit $300 in sales per quarter. Here’s the best part:
๐Sales can be submitted in any amount - you don’t have to place one giant $300 order.
๐Both your personal purchases and customer orders count toward your minimum (exceptions include demonstrator business supplies).
๐Nearly everything you buy or sell will help you meet your requirement.
๐You can absolutely meet this just by shopping for yourself, but if you love sharing stamping with others, those orders will make it even easier.
So whether you’re stocking up on cardstock and ink or hosting a fun craft night, meeting your quarterly minimum is totally doable!
My Story: From “Kit Napper” to Lifelong Demo
Let me spill the glitter here. Ten years ago, I joined Stampin’ Up! with zero intention of doing anything beyond grabbing that amazing starter kit deal. In the demo world, we call that a “kit napper.” You sign up, snag the goodies, and that’s it.But here I am, a whole decade later, still going strong as a demonstrator. Why? Because I fell in love - not just with the products, but with the people, the company, and the creative energy that flows through this community.
What started as a “why not?” moment turned into a journey full of creativity, friendships, and more sparkle in my life than I ever expected.
FAQs About Becoming a Demonstrator
๐Do I have to sell to other people?Nope! Many demonstrators join just for the discount. You can meet your quarterly minimum with only your own purchases if you want.
๐What happens if I don’t meet the $300 requirement?
No stress - first you'll go into 'pending' status where you have 1 more month to 'catch up' and meet the quota, then you’ll simply drop back to being a customer. You get to keep everything you’ve purchased, no strings attached.
๐Do I need to carry inventory or host parties?
Absolutely not! Some demonstrators love hosting events, but it’s not required. You get to run your Stampin’ Up! journey your way.
๐Can I rejoin later if I drop?
Yes! If life gets busy and you step away, you’re always welcome back when the timing is right.
๐Is there any catch?
The only “catch” is figuring out what you want in your starter kit - because trust me, narrowing it down is the hardest part! I was definitely in the "I want it all!" group ๐ Below, you'll see some examples of 'starter kits' I created to give you some ideas of what you can get.
Why You Should Join This October
Whether you’re just looking for a great deal on craft supplies or you’re curious about turning your hobby into something more, there’s truly no downside. The October join special is like walking into a candy store and being told, “Fill your bag with whatever you want - oh, and it’s on sale too.”So if you’ve been on the fence, trust me - this is your sign to go for it. Grab your kit, get your discount, and come hang out in this amazing community of stampers. Who knows? Ten years from now, you might be telling your own “kit napper turned lifer” story.
Starter Kit Ideas:
Once you click 'join', sign the demonstrator agreement and enter your personal information, you'll be directed to place an order for your 'starter kit'. This is the fun part! Depending on the join option you choose, you can start adding products to your cart that adds up to the total (either $125 or $189) without going over that amount. I've compiled a few ideas for a starter kit ...
If you want just paper, here you can order Designer Series (pattern) Paper in each of the color groups, cardstock in each of the color groups and Basic White cardstock. Order total would be $124.50
As I said, you can choose ANY products you'd like, as long as the total is equal or less than the option you choose.
