From Nail Biter to Color Street Press-Ons

Why I’m So Excited to Try Color Street’s New Nails

If you've followed me for any amount of time, you probably already know that I love doing my nails. What you may not know is that my relationship with my nails goes back a LOT further than Color Street.
And it hasn't always been pretty. 😂

I've Been a Nail Biter Pretty Much Forever

I've been a nail biter since I was a child. I bit them through my teenage years, into young adulthood and, if we're being completely truthful here, I can't exactly claim that I've completely kicked the habit today.
So somewhere around my 20s, I discovered something wonderful: Fake nails.
Suddenly, I could have the longer, prettier nails I wanted without waiting for my natural nails to cooperate.
And thus began what has turned into decades of experimenting with just about every DIY nail option imaginable.

I've Always Done My Own Nails

Here's something that might surprise you: I've never gone to a nail salon to have my nails done.
Not once.
I've always done them myself.
I started with the traditional press-on nails you could pick up at the drugstore. I loved the idea of them, but unfortunately, my experience wasn't great. I'd put them on, and within a day or two I'd inevitably start losing nails. Nothing says glamorous quite like realizing you're suddenly missing your index fingernail. 😂
Eventually, I discovered glue-on nails - the full-cover nails that you size to your fingers and glue into place. Game changer.
I used those for years, and I still use them today.
Then, because apparently simply gluing on a nail wasn't enough of a project for me, I ventured into doing my own acrylic nails at home.
If you've ever done DIY acrylics, you know the process.
Glue on the nails. Trim each one. Mix the powder and liquid. Apply the acrylic. Shape them.
Then file.
And file.
And sand.
And file some more.
And somewhere around hour 437, admire your beautiful nails and wonder why you didn't start doing them yesterday. 😂
I love the finished result, but acrylics (and even my regular glue-ons) require something I don't always have: TIME.

Then I Discovered Color Street

Before Color Street came into my life, I had hundreds (and I do mean HUNDREDS) of bottles of liquid nail polish.
Colors. Glitters. Chromes. Cremes. You name it, I probably had it.
Then I discovered Color Street nail strips, and everything changed.
I fell in love with how easy they were to apply. There was no wet polish, no waiting for layers to dry and no reaching for something five minutes later only to discover I'd somehow managed to smudge three nails.
And the colors and designs? That's when doing my nails became even more fun.
Color Street nail strips have been a HUGE time-saver for me, especially compared with traditional liquid polish.
But there was still one little piece missing.

Sometimes I Want Instant Length, Too

I love my nail strips, but sometimes I don't just want color or a pretty design.
I want length.
That's when I usually reach for my glue-ons or acrylics.
The problem is that I have to make time for them. I can't casually decide 20 minutes before I'm leaving the house that I'd like to do a complete acrylic set.
Well, technically I can decide that. It just isn't going to end well. 😂
There have been plenty of times when I've wanted to do my nails but didn't have enough time, so I simply went without them. And then there are the times when I grossly overestimate my ability to get ready on schedule.
Which brings me to a wedding I attended just a few weeks ago.

Yes, I Did My Nails on the Way to a Wedding

I had every intention of getting everything done with plenty of time to spare.
You can probably guess how that worked out.
I spent a good portion of the day getting ready and doing my nails, and even though Color Street strips are incredibly quick compared with everything else I've used, I still managed to run out of time.
So I finished applying my nail strips ... in the car on the way to the wedding 😂😂😂
And I wish I could tell you that was the first time I've done something like that. It was not.
That's exactly why Color Street's new Press-On Nails immediately caught my attention.

Enter Color Street Press-Ons

Now here's where I need to make something VERY clear - I haven't tried them yet.
My Press-Ons haven't arrived, so this isn't a review and I'm not going to tell you they're amazing before I've actually put them on my own hands.
But am I excited about them? OH YES.
Because on paper, they sound like they could fill a very specific spot in my nail routine.
I want something for those times when I want pretty nails AND instant length without having to set aside a chunk of my day for glue-ons or acrylics.
Going somewhere unexpectedly? Press-Ons.
Forgot to do my nails until I'm almost ready to leave? Press-Ons.
Want longer nails for a special event without turning the afternoon into a nail project? PRESS. ONS. 😂
At least...that's what I'm hoping!

Will They Replace My Other Nails?

Probably not - and honestly, I don't want them to. I love having choices.
I'll still use Color Street nail strips when I want beautiful color and designs on my natural nails. I'll probably still use my glue-ons. And I'm sure I'll occasionally decide that today's the perfect day to drag out the acrylic supplies and spend forever trimming, filing, buffing, and shaping.
But I'm really hoping Color Street Press-Ons become my easy option for those moments when I want a beautiful, finished manicure with length - and I want it NOW.
Basically, I'm hoping they'll become my: “OH CRAP, I HAVE SOMEWHERE TO BE AND I FORGOT TO DO MY NAILS!” manicure.
Because apparently I need one of those in my life. 😂

And Now We Wait...

With Color Street's reputation and 1000's of great reviews, I'm genuinely excited to get my hands on these and see how they compare with all the other nail options I've used over the years.
How easy are they to apply?
How do they feel?
How well do they stay on?
How do they look in real life?
And perhaps most importantly ... Can they survive Dawn? 😂
Once mine arrive and I've actually worn them, I'll come back and tell you exactly what I think - the good, the bad, and anything in between.
Because I'm hoping I'm going to love them.
But first? They have to earn it. 💅💜

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Until next time ...
xoxo
